Liv to Ride Events

Liv to Ride Goldilocks

Goldilocks is a fun, women-only cycling event that will be held on October 8.  The ride offers distances of 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 miles.  The ride is fully supported with rest stops, SAG vehicles and Papa Bears riding the routes to provide any assistance needed.

If you have never ridden a group event, Goldilocks is a perfect event to start with - it is not a race, it is meant to be fun and support women in cycling.

Pro Cyclery has formed a women's team for Goldilocks - Pro Cyclery Babes on Bikes.  Our training plan for Goldilocks can be found under this tab with the title Goldilocks June 2017 Training Schedule.  We will add to the schedule throughout the summer.

Please join us even if you can't make every training ride or if you are planning to do the event with another team.

Goldilocks June 2016 Training Schedule

Welcome, or welcome back to Pro Cyclery Babes on Bikes and our Goldilocks Team.  Below is our schedule for June 2017.  We will add more as the summer rolls along.  We encourage you to ride with us as many times as you can, but if you can’t make our rides and are training on your own, try to get at or near the same distances.

June 3              Saturday group ride roll out from Pro Cyclery at 6:30 a.m.  We have an A and a B group.  The A group rides 40-45 miles at about 19-20 mph.  The B group rides 30-35 miles at about 12-15 mph.  The route for the B group is usually a straight shot out to the Red Rock overlook and back.  If you are not an experienced rider and don’t think you can do the entire 30 miles, you are free to turn around at any point.  Please let Lelani or another lead rider know that you are not doing the entire 30 miles so they will not worry if they don’t see you at the overlook.

June 10            Saturday group ride roll out from Pro Cyclery at 6:30 a.m.

June 13            Speed Tuesdays.  Roll out from Pro Cyclery at 6:30 a.m.  This ride is about increasing your speed as opposed to adding distance.  This is a drop ride.

June 17            Our ride on the 17th will be different.  We will roll out from Pro Cyclery at 6:30 a.m. as usual, but will meet up with the Ghost Ride.  The Ghost Ride is both in honor of cyclists who have been injured or killed while riding their bike and also serves as a visual reminder to drivers that they have to pay attention to cyclists.  This ride is also in honor of Dr. Kayvan Khiabani who was killed in an accident last month.  They will also be taking donations in Dr. Khiabani’s name for the American Cancer Society.  We ask that, if you have a Pro Cyclery kit or a BOBs jersey, you wear it to this ride.

June 20            Speed Tuesday.  Roll out from Pro Cyclery at 6:30 a.m.  This is a drop ride.

June 23            Team Babes on Bikes Meet and Greet.  Meet other members of the team and maybe find a new riding partner from your neighborhood or with your same schedule.  We will also talk about fit and function on your bike along with sharing some snacks and prizes.

June 24            LADIES ONLY!  No drop group ride rolling out from Pro Cyclery at 6:30 a.m.

NOTES:            You get $5 off if you register for Goldilocks under Pro Cyclery Babes on Bikes.  The price goes up every month until the event, so the sooner you register, the better.  If you’ve already registered as an individual, you can move your registration to the team.

We will also plan to ride as a team in the Honor Ride which is held in November.  We will have more information regarding that ride to share with you later.

We are designing a new BOBs jersey this year.  Hopefully we will have the design at our meet and greet.  As with the last jersey, we will charge you what we are charged for the jerseys.
